You’re not here by accident. God loves you, wants you to have a personal relationship with Him and He has a purpose for your life. There is just one thing that separates you from God. That one thing is sin. You may not feel like that statement really applies to you, but consider what the Bible says:

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

That includes you and every one of us here at Pleasant Grove! But there is great news for each us. God loves you, wants you to have a personal relationship with Him and He has a purpose for your life. So much so, that Jesus actually took the punishment for our sin as if He Himself were the one who deserved it!! Consider what the Bible says:

“God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

It might be hard for you to understand but God really DOES love you! More than you can ever imagine! And there’s nothing you can do to make him stop! Are you thinking that you should make things right in your life before you come to Jesus? Many people feel that way, but consider what the Bible says:

“He saved us, not because of His mercy.” Titus 3:5

It is the grace of God that allows us to come to Him – not our efforts to somehow “clean up our life” or “work our way to Heaven.” We can’t earn it because it is a free gift. Consider what the Bible says:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Thank about this for a moment.  For you to come to God, your sin must be paid for. God’s gift to you is His son, Jesus, who paid that debt for you!  Jesus paid the price for our sin (death) by giving His life on Calvary’s cross. God brought Jesus back from the dead and paved the way for us to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus.  Consider what the Bible says:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

All that’s left for any of us to do is to accept the gift that Jesus is holding out for you right now. God says that if you believe in His son, Jesus, you can live forever with Him in glory. Consider what the Bible says:

“if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Are you ready to accept the gift of eternal life that Jesus is offering you right now? If it is your sincere desire to ask Jesus to come into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior, then talk to God from your heart through the Sinner’s Prayer:

Sinner’s Prayer

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God and that You died for my sin. Please come into my life, to be my Lord and Savior. I ask you to forgive me for my sin and cleanse me from all that it has done in my life. Fill my life with your Holy Spirit and help me to live a life that is pleasing to you. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me!

Now, if you have just prayed that prayer in faith, you may or may not feel any differently. You may wonder if it made a difference. Well, we’d like to briefly show you that it did, but not on the basis of our opinions. Instead, we want you to once again consider what the Bible says:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with me” Revelation 3:20

Did you notice and/or wonder why we kept asking you to consider what the Bible says? Well, have you ever read a note or a letter that somebody wrote you? When you read it, you were hearing them tell you those things they wrote as clearly as if they were speaking them out loud . . . you were hearing their voice! In just that way, you have been hearing God’s voice each time we’ve considered what the Bible says about something. Have you ever heard somebody knock on the door and say “Come In” and watched them do just that without you even touching the doorknob? That’s what just happened in your prayer. You asked Jesus to come into your life. The only question is, how do you know He did come in? Especially if you don’t feel any different?

Do you think Jesus can lie? Obviously not or He’d be a sinner just like us. So then notice exactly what He said would happen if you heard His voice and invited Him into your life. He did not say He might come in; or He could come in; or even that He would if anything else happened to make it alright. He simply and emphatically said “I will come in” and begin to enjoy a personal relationship with you that is so intimate and real that it is like sharing a meal together!  (Ladies, the words ‘him’ and ‘he’ do not make this a verse for men only . . . anymore than to say ‘all mankind’ means only men!)  If you have asked Jesus to come into your life as your Lord and Savior, then either He is a liar or He did come in to your life . . . not based on feelings but on what the Bible says.

If you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please let us know. We want to rejoice in what God has done in your life and pray for you.  We will even try to help you to grow spiritually if we can serve and help you.
